APPLY FOR ADMISSION
To apply for a certificate or diploma program you must submit the following information:
- A completed and signed application form;
- A minimum application fee for each course or program that you would like to register for (balance payments are due six weeks before each course or program begins);
- A résumé (curriculum vitae): previous culinary experience is not essential;
- A statement of motivation - a description of the reasons why you would like to attend Le Cordon Bleu and a list of some of your future culinary goals (500 words max.), and
- Proof of high school completion, or equivalent; a photocopy of a diploma or school transcripts will suffice.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Prospective students must be a minimum of 17 years of age and must have completed high school or equivalent. A high school equivalency test will be administered if the prospective student does not have a high school diploma or the equivalent.
THE ACCEPTANCE PACKAGE
Once accepted, you will be sent a registration package by mail. The registration process can take up to two weeks. It can take up to four weeks for the registration package to arrive to some international addresses. International students, please allow yourself at least three to four months to apply for a student visa after recieving your acceptance package. Please contact the Admissions Office or indicate on your application if you would like to pay to have your registration package sent by courier instead.
Your Acceptance Package will include:
- Your Proof of Student Status letter; international students may need this letter to apply for a student visa, it states the courses you are officially registered in and their session dates;
- A sheet indicating missing information, if any, still required from you;
- Information about the Terms & Conditions of Application and Enrollment;
- Information about, and a copy of, the school’s Academic and Administrative Policy and Procedures Manual;
- Information about the orientation session;
- Details regarding equipment/uniform;
- Information about moving to Ottawa;
- A housing list for Ottawa;
- A local map of Ottawa, and
- Memos containing any updates or additional information.
